Yes, certainly, you can backup these user settings:

Within the Application Folder, the following user files can be found:

  • Report Templates, containing Word templates for all applications. You can change these templates according your own wishes, such as adding a company name and logo, and deleting result data. The files are named like "XinapsReportTemplate {pluginname}.docx"
  • Settings, containing user settings for all applications. Each XML contains settings for a different application. You can change application settings in here as well, and you can share these files to your colleagues so they use the same settings. The XML files are named like "Xinaps{pluginname}Settings.xml"
  • Revit Files, containing all the Revit files Xinaps uses. You may change these Revit files to fit with your own model style.

We strongly advice you to always backup these settings to a file share every once in a while, in case there is some problems with reinstalling or updating the plugins.

There are two ways to share these files:

  • Copy and email these files from your Application Folder to your colleague. Your colleague can then overwrite his setting files with the received files. In this way you still keep the user settings separated
  • Use a shared folder for (one of) these settings.
    • Move these files to any file share like your office server.
    • Change the folder paths in BuildingPerformance.dll.config in the application folder. You can open this config file with any text editor. The path text supports Windows Environment Variables.
    • Optionally you can put some of these files read-only to certain Windows users in a usergroup, so that not everybody has the rights to change the Xinaps user settings.
