It really depends per app. We've got two types of information linked to Revit:

  1. Added info needed to start doing the calculation and
  2. Info to save the xinaps calculation resultsin Revit.

For instance:

  • Financial costs does not give back any cost information to Revit. It really works separately on top of Revit, so it just gets the realtime amounts from Revit.
  • Financial annual cashflow uses some room parameters which are added by the app itself.
  • Spatial just checks current information gotten from your model.
  • Toilet checker sets a room parameter called “area per person” to determine the number of persons in each room to calculate the required number of toilets.
  • Daylight sends back information to the model, such as daylight ratio per room as a parameter, and alpha/beta shading values per window.
So it can also generate a colour visualisation in Revit based on the results.
  • Accessibility adds a door property to define which door(s) is/are the main entrances of the building.
  • Fire Safety adds a parameter to define which elements are fire exit doors/stairs/elevators.
  • A fire hose coverage visualisation can be saved as filled regions in a Revit floor plan.
