If you get an activation error like "Time out when logging in", "Unspecified error occurred", or "Invalid request"

The Xinaps application might not get an internet connection to the Xinaps license server.


The most common reason is that something blocks the internet connection. It may be a proxy, firewall, security software (including a firewall).

Please try the following:

  • Try to go to https://api.admin.xinaps.com/versions or use commandline and try "ping api.admin.xinaps.com". Are you able to contact this server? If time out, do you get an IP-address in return?
  • Try to white-list https://api.admin.xinaps.com or the returned IP-address from the ping.
  • Try to turn off the firewall and try to activate again.
  • Try to add processes to whitelist in the firewall/anti-virus: revit.exe and XinapsForRevit.dll (C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\XinapsForRevit.bundle)
